Job Description

Responsibilities:


Project Assessment

  • Attend site meetings for private sector clients to determine the exact scope of work required to solve a particular challenge client may have or to help them reach their goal.
  • Attend bid meetings for public sector tenders, to develop and execute bid strategy.

Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle to ensure satisfaction and build lasting relationships.

Cost Estimation

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates (take-off) for materials, labor, equipment, and fixed costs, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans and addenda effectively.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers for the various materials needed for a project and secure competitive pricing and ensure lead times don t adversely affect site schedule.
  • Gather, update, and review historical cost data and consider findings when preparing new quotes.
  • Experience quoting one or more of these services is preferred: coatings, sealants, masonry, concrete, stucco, pavers, or other building envelope services.
  • Experience in estimating building envelope work for tall buildings, with a keen understanding of the unique challenges they present such as swing stage operations, overhead protection, and roof anchor considerations, is a plus.

Proposal Preparation

Develop visually appealing proposals that go beyond a simple scope of work, including annotated pictures, drawing details, and product data sheets to ensure comprehensive client understanding.

Conduct site visits to gather measurements, pictures, and occasional videos to enhance proposal accuracy.

Ensure proposals effectively communicate project goals and execution plans in a clear, step-by-step manner.

Prepare contract documents and site-specific documentation for our crews.

Travel

Attend site meetings and tender meetings to liaise with clients.

For those estimators who wish to be engaged in the containment services we offer nationally, many travel opportunities exist visiting sites in the lower 48 states.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in estimating projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial, industrial, or institutional construction.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Detailed oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management or related field preferred (but not mandatory).
  • Valid driver s license and good driving record.
