Tree and Shrub Technician


Job Details

Performs property inspections, tree, and shrub applications on residential and commercial client properties.
Responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and correcting landscape needs. Makes timely tree and shrub applications using
hand and powered equipment to apply insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides. Also ensures client satisfaction with
service.

Essential Functions:

  • Working individually or with a crew to provide tree and shrub services to all properties on assigned route. Using hand and powered equipment, apply insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides for pests and disease on trees and ornamentals.
  • Unload and load equipment at each property, remove loose trash and debris from landscape area prior to servicing area.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations, and company policies, procedures, and guidelines including local ordinances. Keep scheduled appointments with customers, as applicable.
  • Interact and ask questions of clients if they are present when the job is completed, to determine client concerns and existing conditions. Sell additional services to existing and prospective clients.
  • Perform thorough inspection and evaluation of client properties.
  • Properly identify insects, weeds, and fungus conditions, as well as pest harborage areas and conducive conditions, and prescribe corrective measures.
  • Document service using handheld technology giving detailed, well-written, notes.
  • Operate company vehicles in compliance with federal, state, local laws, and company policy. Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Follow proper safety protocols while working with equipment.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good working order.
  • Respond promptly to requests from the office.
  • Actively participate in learning opportunities.
  • Assist all production-based departments, as needed.
  • May be required to work outside of normal schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as it may be necessary to fulfill the duties or the needs of the business.
  • Expected to have regular attendance for scheduled shifts, and to notify supervisor within a timely manner of absenteeism or tardiness according to company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned by management


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0- 2 years of related experience in a customer service environment.
  • Previous tree and shrub care experience preferred.
  • Strong Customer and Client Focus.
  • Able to solve and analyze situations and determine appropriate resolution independently.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
