***This position will be based onsite representing SaarGummi Group at the RIVIAN facility location in Normal, IL.
The Quality Engineer will serve as the liaison between SaarGummi and RIVIAN to ensure all products manufactured and shipped meet customer specific requirements & achieve superior quality levels. Will assist in making sure internal quality controls are compliant with IATF and other automotive certification standards. Will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of quality assurance processes.
Responsibilities
- Minimize the impacts of Quality in the customer plant
- Will provide immediate and detailed information on any quality issues that arises at the RIVIAN plant
- Will be a the conduit between RIVIAN and SaarGummi regarding any/all quality concerns
- Will provide weekly reports of the client's production line activities (Incidents, Debits, Audits)
- Responsible for preparation of Quality Alerts about problems and/or defects claimed by the client (non conforming material, line stoppage, scrap)
- Participation in meetings with client and communication to the manufacturing plant of agreements and/or defined activities
- Will prepare production audits
- Documentation of all procedures, instructions, and processes related to all quality requirements in compliance with all applicable ISO9001-2015 and IATF standards
- Coordination of containment activities due to non-conforming material
- Additional quality duties as directed by SaarGummi management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in quality in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of quality tools used in the industry
- Analytical and quantitative approach to problem solving
- Automotive industry with a history of meeting with the customer and negotiating correction of issues and agreements is preferred
