GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Cooks, serves food to inmates and staff, and assists in the preparation of menusSUPERVISION RECEIVED:Works under the direction of the Executive Chef and the Kitchen SupervisorSUPERVISION EXERCISED:Supervises large numbers of inmates in the preparation and serving of food and related tasksDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists in the planning of menus and special diets; 2. Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of meals and special diets; 3. Assists the Kitchen Supervisor and Executive Chef in ordering food and equipment for the kitchen and dining areas; 4. Ensures the timely and orderly service of meals and proper nutritional diets; 5. Ensures that the kitchen, food storage, and dining areas are maintained in compliance with applicable health codes, regulations, and Department policies; 6. Accounting for all kitchen stores, equipment, and utensils; 7. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen, storage, and dining areas, equipment, and utensils; 8. Other related duties as the Sheriff may assign from time to time.QUALIFICATIONS
