ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
The Women's Wrestling Head Coach is responsible for the planning, development, administration, and oversight of the College wrestling program; with primary focus on teaching, instructing and tutoring student athletes the rules and fundamentals of the sport of wrestling.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.Coach conducts practices and clinics, and determines the number, duration and content of those practices and clinics that is in the best interests of College. 2.Coach will teach, tutor and instruct team members on the rules and fundamentals of the sport. 3.Offers instruction and coaching to advance the performance of each athlete. 4.Coach supervises and coaches the team on all travel of the home and away events. 5.Develops, supervises and conducts the recruiting program for College's wrestling program. 6.Responsible for supervising team members at all times during practices, games, and other times as directed. 7.In conjunction with College's Development Office, the Coach will develop a fundraising program. 8.Ensures compliance with NJCAA; policies and procedures of Lackawanna College and their Athletic program. 9.Promotes the well-being of student-athletes. 10.All other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
- Current certification in American Red Cross CPR / First Aid.
- Trained in use of Automatic Electrodes Defibrillator (AED).
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and protocol.
- Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
- Commitment to fulfillment of the College mission.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
EDUCATION: - Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: - Prior wrestling coaching experience required.
- Experience with recruiting preferred.
- Experience with fundraising preferred.
