Job Description:


The Construction Project Engineer will play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


Responsibilities:


Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to understand project requirements and scope.


Submittal and RFI Management:

  • Prepare and submit project submittals, including shop drawings, material samples, and product data, for approval.
  • Manage requests for information (RFIs) and coordinate responses with the project team and stakeholders.
  • Track submittal and RFI logs to ensure timely review, approval, and resolution.


Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress and quality of workmanship.
  • Document and report any deviations from project plans or specifications.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.


Cost Estimating and Budget Management:

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and budget forecasts for projects.
  • Track project expenses and monitor budget allocations to ensure cost control and profitability.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options to optimize project costs.


Schedule Management:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project).
  • Monitor project progress and milestones to identify potential schedule delays or conflicts.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop mitigation strategies and adjust schedules as necessary.


Contract Administration:

  • Assist in preparing and administering contracts, change orders, and purchase orders.
  • Review and analyze contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Facilitate communication and negotiations between the project team and stakeholders as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related field.
  • Previous experience working in a construction project engineering role or related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Autodesk BIM 360, Bluebeam).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and industry standards.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification and other relevant certifications preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
