Job Description

The Logistics Support I will be responsible for supporting all R&D inventory activities, including shipping, receiving, and management of storage areas. Clearly communicate with R&D stakeholders and enforce inventory policies and procedures. This is a Temporary position, with an estimated 4-6 month timeline. Opportunity to extend temporary position could be available.

This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division, located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of R&D shipping activities, including locating and packaging units, completing proper paperwork, and coordinating with the shipping department for domestic and international shipments.
  • Support R&D receiving activities, including collecting, delivering, and recording all R&D receiving items and units.
  • Effectively collaborate with plant material control and shipping departments to process inbound and outbound items in an organized manner.
  • Coordinate and schedule R&D trailer requests with shipping dept. and spotters Maintain organized log of R&D trailers.
  • Manage R&D warehouse inventory and enforce inventory procedures and policies
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and organization in all common storage and staging areas
  • Deliver and transport test units between R&D storage areas and labs
  • Manage the lab parts supply cabinet and purchase parts and items for lab team members
  • Coordinate with off-site Rheem warehouses to deliver and receive R&D items and units
  • Maintain positive working relationships with Plant and R&D personnel through respectful and clear communication
  • Use various hand tools and powered industrial vehicles (PIV)
  • Must attend work regularly
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Position requires frequently moving large Division products with pallet-jacks, hand trucks, and forklift as needed
  • Position requires frequent physical labor, such as repetitive bending, straining, and lifting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Some experience in distribution and/or inventory control in an office, distribution or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with industrial motor vehicle driving, including forklift.
  • General computer literacy and an ability to use key Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills
  • Ability to use inventory tracking and purchasing software
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic customer service environment
  • Strong communicative and interpersonal skills with external and internal contacts
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and reasoning skills
  • Demonstrate basic math skills
  • History of regular and consistent attendance at work
