Senior Buyer - Purchasing, Full Time, Days - ( 2200234 ) **Description**

Responsible for the direct supervision of the purchasing staff and daily purchasing processes. The Senior Buyer is responsible for obtaining cost-effective pricing, product and vendor information, assisting management with the analysis of purchasing and expediting the purchasing process.

Under the direct supervision of the Director, Material Management and within established departmental policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions.

- Is able to lead a negotiation team for capital budget purchases.

- Prepares bids as designated by the Director, Material Management. Collaborates with the Director, Material Management on evaluating and awarding of the same.

- Is responsible for the coordination and/or distribution of all service contracts.

- Monitors and develops standards for office furniture and window treatment used within the organization.

- Monitors and analyzes vendor performance on an ongoing basis to ascertain continuity of service levels.

- Expedites purchase orders and coordinates delivery of goods between vendor and end user.

- Coordinates pickups with internal staff or courier service.

- Conducts pricing analysis on a sample basis to confirm maintenance of competitive prices.

- Prepares and prices departmental requisitions for assigned departments and provides department with product information.

- Processes non-inventory and inventory orders and writes purchase orders as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.

- Must demonstrate a high level of commitment to Customer Service.

- Coordinates daily purchasing work flow and staffing.

- Prepares and awards bids for capital equipment purchases.

- Monitors and analyzes vendor performance to ascertain continuity of service levels.

- Coordinates in-services for purchased equipment.

- Coordinates employee purchase programs.

- Participates in appropriate role in Catholic Medical disasters, fire drills, fires and other emergency situations.

- Exercises care in the use and operation of Catholic Medical equipment and reference materials. Maintains work area in a clean and organized manner.

- Carries out special projects and performs similar or related duties as assigned or directed.

**Qualifications**

Education:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

* Three to five years in a high volume, extremely detailed oriented office environment. Healthcare experience preferred.
