Fleet management is an integral part of keeping our county progressing forward with a mission to respond rapidly and effectively to the transportation needs of County departments and agencies.

What Would You Do?

  • Diagnosis/repair of engine, fuel system, drive train, steering, brakes, and suspension components on light trucks.
  • Diagnosis/repair of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components on a variety of light trucks and associated apparatus and/or diagnosis/repair of light trucks.
  • Use of precision diagnostic tools and measuring devices to aid in the diagnosis and repair of the above-mentioned systems and components.
  • Diagnosis and repair of air conditioning systems.
  • Electronic and engine diagnosis utilizing sophisticated diagnostic equipment.
  • Programming electronic components in vehicles and equipment.
  • Performs related work as assigned or required.

What Do You Need To Have?

  • At least 3 years of experience as described above; or
  • An Automotive Technology certificate or vocational training and at least 1 year of experience as described above; or
  • An associate degree or higher in Automotive Technology or related field and at least 1 year of experience as described above.
  • Attainment of ASE certifications in brakes and suspension & steering under Light Truck within 1 year of hire.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Driver's License upon hire with eligibility based upon evaluation of a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) driving report.
  • Possession and maintenance of Florida Commercial Driver's License Class "B" within 1 year of hire.
  • Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
