**Parts Room Attendant**
**Location:** Chicago, IL, US Issues parts and tools and maintains inventory and records for the parts / tool room.
**Day-to-Day Role**
* Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
* Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
* Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
* Record, control, and monitor parts room inventory using ERP production system
* Ensure inventory items are received and stored appropriately; expedite orders as needed
* Track and maintain appropriate documentation
* Responsible for inventory record accuracy, cycle counts, root cause analysis and corrective action for variances.
* Send out parts out to be rebuilt or repaired as needed
* Unload and deliver tools and parts manually or via forklift, lift truck or pallet jack as needed
* Clean, disassemble and assemble parts and tools as needed
* Verify, compare, and confirm type and quality of received goods against Bill of Lading, invoices, or pick tickets
* Report and record any discrepancy, damaged items, shortages, broken or unidentified packages to the supervisor
* Ensure that all tools, parts and equipment are in good working conditions
**Core Skills & Qualifications**
**The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:**
* One (1) year of experience working at parts counter, storeroom, tool room/crib or parts room
* Previous plant production software experience required, SAP experience preferred
* Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
* Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, and spreadsheets in MS Word and MS Excel
* Ability to obtain and maintain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) license
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
* Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa
* Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures
* Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
**Preferred Skills & Qualifications:**
* Previous powered industrial truck experience
* Experience using power and hand tools
