  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Patient Access Associate works with the patients to insure and provide courteous service regarding patient check in/out procedures, answering phone calls, assisting patients in the office. This position will expose this person to difficult situations as they are asked to handle complaints from person with billing concerns, walk in needs or other complaints. Data entry must be accurate in the practice management system. Usually the Patient Access Associate works at the Front Desk checking patients in and out but can work at the Hospital Desk if a manpower shortage exists.
  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS
    • Education and/or experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous medical office experience preferred but not required. Previous insurance experience preferred but not required.
    • Knowledge: Good working knowledge of a computer system including the current window programs. Knowledge of insurance carriers preferred but not required. Knowledge of English grammar, spelling and basic math required.
    • Skills: Good customer skills are an essential requirement of this position. Computers and data entry skills must be above average. Math skills required.
    • Abilities: The ability to multi-task and keep a level temperament while dealing in potentially stressful situations. Good telephone etiquette essential. Ability to handle money effectively and data enter those payments and balance daily. Must be able to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense and have the initiative to think outside the box. Must be able to handle provider scheduling issues.
