Parsons is now hiring a **Security Officer** for our Faro Mine Site. In this role, under minimal supervision, you will perform a variety of nonroutine tasks in support of the professional staff within the assigned unit.
**NEED:**
The Security Officer is a first responder and assists with the overall security of the Faro Mine Complex grounds. The Officer is responsible for the security of customers, employees and property. Specific duties include the following:
* Prevents and detect signs of intrusion
* Ensures security of doors, windows, and gates
* Oversees all security and surveillance issues
* Maintains the administration of security programs
* Answers alarms and investigates disturbances
* Creates and provides various daily and monthly reports
* Monitors and tracks all incoming and outgoing employees, customers, vendors and suppliers
* Calls police or fire departments in cases of emergency or presence of unauthorized persons
* Functions as onsite Emergency Medical Responder
* Ensures confidentiality is kept in accordance to laws with regards to first aid
Perform other duties as assigned.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**
* Must have current Emergency Medical Responder Certification
* Must be able to administer First Aid
* Previous training and experience as a Security Officer or in a related field preferred
* Must have a valid Class 5 drivers license.
* Must be able to effectively follow and give directions.
* Must be able to complete required paperwork to report abnormalities or incidents.
* Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
* Must be able to work a variety of shifts.
* Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various elemental conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
* Ability to lift up to 20 kg
* Computer Skills -Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
* Ability to work well under pressure and provide good customer care.
* Good organizational skills, with ability to manage and prioritize several assignments simultaneously
* Proven ability to concentrate, pay attention to detail, organize, and be a team player
* Proven understanding of safe work practices and mitigating risk
* Ability to work with little supervision and function in a multidiscipline environment
