Maintenance Supervisor/Equipment Specialist

Full-Time/Direct position with Tier-1 automotive assembly supplier

1st and 3rd Shift Available

Salary + OT

55 hours on average per week


Experience Required

Multi-skilled industrial equipment repair in an automotive environment with at least 3-5 years preferred with 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic design and repair. Demonstrated experience in mechanical, electrical and industrial fabrication.


Education Required

Associate s Degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance (or similar field) or equivalent experience.



Purpose Of Position

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the company s business goals and objectives as assigned by the Maintenance Manager. This position will support all plant technical/mechanical operations as well as any building/grounds maintenance required or needed and will lead a team of technicians.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Hands-on supervisory role responsible for preventative maintenance and repair/improvement of plant equipment.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians as direct reports, developing all through strong training, coaching, mentoring, as well as addressing any performance or behavior issues as needed.
  • Act as the technical lead for the shift for which responsible. Troubleshoot/ Diagnose equipment issues regarding PLC s, conveyors, and machine maintenance including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, etc.)
  • Maintain and continuously improve the use of the preventive maintenance program.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test , and make adjustments .
  • Assure all safety regulations are followed and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Assist in the relief of plant technical staff during absences from the plant.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and gain consensus among team members at all levels. Ability to cover for Maintenance Manager.
  • Research, design, and implement new technology to improve equipment performance and quality to the customer.
  • Support plant/maintenance in a 24/7 operation, with the ability to flex the schedule as needed. Some weekend work may be required.
  • Assure the completion of special assignments designated by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Management of installation of equipment as required.
  • Support Production and other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality including, but not limited to, managing confidentiality of any proprietary business-related information.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability push, pull and carry, body coordination, arm/hand steadiness, see colors and near vision, ability to work in confined spaces, use ladders, dexterity
