Akhia, headquartered in Hudson, Ohio, is currently seeking a Media Relations Specialist to join our team. The individual who fills this role will have an opportunity to support national and trade media relations efforts for well-known consumer and B2B brands.Responsibilities:
Support national and trade media relations efforts for consumer and B2B brandsDevelop creative media pitches and story angles to generate editorial coverage that is on strategy and in line with clients business and communications goalsDevelop, execute and maintain strategic communications plans, project work plans, schedules and budgetsMeasure and report campaign and project successesContribute to creative brief development while ensuring the brief is on brand and on message for campaign/creative developmentMeet with clients regularly to set and manage expectationsProfessional Requirements:
Highly organized & detailed, with ability to manage numerous tasks in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrates account management skills proactive, driven, and forward-thinkingAbility to communicate effectively across all levels, internally and externally3-5 years of relevant experience in national consumer and/or B2B media relations, strategic planning and strong writing capabilitiesMedia relations experience is a mustDegree in Journalism or Public Relations preferredFamiliarity with Cision and Critical Mention is a plusPhysical Requirements:
Consistently requires sitting for a majority of the day to complete essential job duties on the computer and telephoneConsistently requires auditory abilities to efficiently listen and effectively communicate with clients, vendors and staff to carry out essential job dutiesOccasionally requires standing to scan, print and copy job related documents to carry out job dutiesInclusive Employee Benefits:
