We are a leading staffing firm and our clients include some over the nations biggest companies. Our client has a need for a Tactical Buyer. This is a contract position; however it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. **Tactical Buyer**
**Job Responsibilities**
Your specific duties as a Tactical Buyer will include:
* Compensation (Range): $22/ hour
* Client partners with our customers to provide differentiated paper and packaging solutions that help them win in the marketplace. Clients 50,000 team members support customers around the world from more than 320 operating and business locations spanning North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
* The Tactical Buyer will be part of the new Tactical Buying Organization (TBO) and support Clients operational facilities by maximizing value through rapid sourcing of mid-level spend ($5,000 - $100,000) that may span several locations. Communication and inquisitiveness are paramount for this role, as the Tactical Buyer will need to facilitate connections with:
* Requisitioners at the operating facilities to demonstrate to them of the value of using the TBO to purchase mid-level spend.
* Suppliers to negotiate the best value.
* Mill purchasing to develop and update a tactical purchasing playbook for each location.
* Category managers to share recommendations for improvements in price lists, supplier performance.
* Purchasing Transaction Services (PTS) team to ensure timely delivery of parts, services and materials purchased.

**Job Requirements**
As a Tactical Buyer you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
* Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
* 2 4+ years of purchasing, supply chain, customer service, or project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Self-motivated, customer-focused, professional team player.
* Can work independently with little guidance from management for day-to-day activities.
* Can work interdependently with a team on projects when assigned.
* Communication skills:
* Well-developed, fact-based oral and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport, influence, and deal with conflict with remote stakeholders and suppliers.
* Professional, yet firm when talking with suppliers and communicating order urgency.
* Can stay level-headed and calm during tense negotiations and discussions, externally and internally.
* Negotiation skills.
