Description
Job summary: The IT Technician Level 1 provides essential software and hardware support to PMI and its affiliated companies. This role involves troubleshooting, software updates, help desk ticket maintenance, and technical documentation creation and maintenance. The incumbent will interact frequently with users, requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Provide Level 1 and 2 software/hardware support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve daily IT issues.
- Perform software updates and maintain help desk tickets.
- Create and update technical documentation.
- Interact with users and provide effective support.
- Conduct network cabling/termination tasks.
- Utilize Active Directory Services and Group Policy knowledge.
- Troubleshoot Windows client operating systems, networking, and hardware.
- Address end user, network, SharePoint, and other IT-related concerns.
- Assist in onboarding and configuring new IT equipment.
- Support external end-users with software, hardware, and networking issues.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot GPS units.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Excel.
- Deliver professional and friendly support via various communication channels.
- Willingly learn new skills as required.
Requirements
Essential qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Prior software support experience preferred.
- Knowledge of network topologies and computer operating systems.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to provide professional support in various formats.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
Working conditions:
- Light travel may be required.
- Some duties may need to be performed at other company locations.
- Must be able to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
- Flexible scheduling, including on-call availability.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to carry items up several flights of stairs unassisted.
- Comfortable working in office environments.
- Ability to navigate industrial settings such as plants and refineries as needed.

Salary Description
