Preschool Site Supervisor

Seeking a Preschool Site Supervisor for Fresno s leading children's activity center. Our facility is industry renowned in our approach to learning through movement based education. We set the standard for high achieving children in a fun loving yet academic centered environment.

Job Overview:

2+ year commitment required

This is a teaching position, in addition to administrative duties

Teaching hours occur five days a week approximately 8:00 am and 4:00 pm

Salaried position ranges upwards from $48k+ per year. Medical benefits available

Required Skills, Attributes and Certifications:

B.A/B.S. In Education, Child Development or other related field

7+ years of experience in educating children ages 2.6 to 6.11 years of age

Passion for teaching in an academic based environment

Be highly enthusiastic and full of personality

Have strong communication skills and the ability to nurture positive relationships with students, families and co-workers

Possess deep roots in ethics, morals, character, educational knowledge and love of children

Provide vision, leadership, mentoring and supervision to the staff

Guide the staff's professional development and lead curriculum development and implementation

Oversee daily operations and ensure all policies and licensing regulations are followed

Manage and monitor enrollment

Collaborate with staff regarding care, curriculum, and policies

Preferred Experience:

Site Supervisor experience

Teaching grades K-3

Experience with or training in DIG Math

Experience with or training in Handwriting Without Tears

Exposure and understanding of The Good and The Beautiful curriculum

Experience with or training in Houghton-Mifflin curriculum

Other reading and math training programs will be considered

State Licensing Requirements

Requirements for the Child Development Program Director Permit

To qualify for the Child Development Program Director Permit, applicants must satisfy all of the requirements listed in one of the following options:

Option 1

  1. Complete all General Requirements (see Terms and Definitions).
  2. Complete a baccalaureate degree or higher.
  3. Complete six additional semester units of course work in administration and supervision of child care and development programs. These units must be comprised of two courses: one introductory course and one advanced course, or two courses of different topical content.
  4. Complete two additional semester units in adult supervision course work.
  5. Verify one year of site supervisor experience. This experience must be verified by submitting an original letter from the employer on official letterhead.

School-Age Emphasis under this option requires that 12 of the 24 semester units of early childhood education or child development be in school-age course work.

Option 2

  1. Obtain a valid Administrative Services Credential authorizing service in California public schools.
  2. Complete 12 semester units in early childhood education or child development course work.
  3. Complete three semester units or four quarter units in supervised field experience in an early childhood education setting.

School-Age Emphasis under this option requires that six of the 12 semester units of early childhood education or child development be in school-age course work.

Option 3

  1. Obtain a valid Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential or a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Home Economics.
  2. Complete 12 semester units of early childhood education or child development course work.
  3. Complete three semester units or four quarter units of supervised field experience[2] in an early childhood education setting.
  4. Complete six additional semester units of course work in administration and supervision of child care and development programs. These units must be comprised of two courses: one introductory course and one advanced course, or two courses of different topical content.

School-Age Emphasis under this option requires that six of the 12 semester units of early childhood education or child development be in school-age course work.

Note [2]:Individuals holding the Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential can use elementary student teaching for the supervised field experience to qualify for the permit issued with School-Age Emphasis.

Option 4

Complete a master s degree or higher in early childhood education, child/human development, or a closely related field.
