STONE & GLAZING CONSULTING (SGC)
A Nationally recognized Building Envelope Consulting Firm located in Flower Mound, Texas, is seeking experienced Architects/Engineers/Consultants/Technicians to perform investigations, testing, remediation design, and project management, with individuals specializing in Exterior Wall Systems, Exterior Wall Access or Roofing & Plaza Decks!
SGC has openings for an Exterior Wall Consultant, Exterior Access Consultant, or a Registered Roof Consultant with measurable experience in Commericial Construction, Design and Forensics.
- A minimum of (10) years Exterior Wall Systems, Roof Anchors or Commercial Roofing / Plaza Deck experience required. Work involves project management, design, testing, forensic study, and remediation of these systems.
- Must be able to work in a team environment, work well with customers and possess excellent communication skills. Strong writing and computer skills are essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Represent the Building Owner by observing and documenting the progress and quality of the work being performed by contractors.
- Facilitate communication between the Owner and Remediation Contractor.
- Assist in the administration of construction contracts to ensure compliance with
approved plans and specifications.
- Prepare/assist in the preparation of surveys that document, evaluate, and recommend
solutions for building envelope defects.
- Prepare/assist in the preparation of plans and specifications for rehabilitation of existing structures.
- Participate in development and drafting of design details.
- Prepare surveys that document, evaluate, and recommend solutions for building envelope defects.
- Provide opinions of cost for recommended repair efforts.
- Provide third-party reviews of structural plans and specifications.
- Provide contract administration services during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Supervise and participate in development and drafting of design details.
- Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet company goals and objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ten (10) years experience in commercial construction or consulting administration, construction project management, or construction project representation
- Bachelor s Degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field
- Excellent communication, computer, writing, and technical report preparation skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to work with Digital Images, sorting, modifying, importing into documents
- Ability to work on roofs and building facades from swing stage equipment
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with building rehabilitation and waterproofing systems
- Experience in rehabilitation of plaza decks
- Experience with both invasive and nondestructive testing techniques
- Experience with coatings, waterproofing membranes, sealers, corrosion inhibitors
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Exterior Wall Access systems, IWCA I14.1, OSHA, and Cal-OSHA compliance
