We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Commercial Analytics team! The Business Analytics Analyst I is an exciting role that will help shape the future of commercial through producing high impact reporting/recommendations to Commercial Operations Management and Stakeholder reporting and recommend process/procedure adjustments to management based on the results. Additional responsibilities may include supporting business requirements of a more complex nature and reviewing specifications developed by IT for system design, including technical concepts, business rules, reporting requirements and system implementation schedules. The ideal candidate is someone who will exercise their initiative to identify and review analytical opportunities and their business needs, utilize statistical techniques, and technical data management tools to develop necessary reports and present analytical results to a broad range of management including senior management.In this role you will:* Analyze business reporting & produce actionable recommendations to management.* Manage deliverables associated with business priorities.* Analyze information from various sources to develop recommendations.* Innovate & collaborate with other teams to design and develop business requirements/user stories to accomplish business objectives.* Independently and as a team, implement solutions with a focus on simplicity, quality & customer centricity.* Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders on achieving approval of business reporting requirements as needed.* Exercise your initiative to identify reporting and data needs within the department.* Promote cross-departmental collaboration to meet business goals.* Own communication of changes to impacted stakeholders.* Create, refine, socialize, and assist in prioritizing the Product backlog to meet business objectives and timelines as needed.Required experience includes:* A bachelor's degree in mathematics, Statistics, Business, Technology, or related field* 2+ years experience writing and executing SQL queries to obtain needed data for analysis.* Understand EDW and transactional data and the inter-relationship of multiple systems.* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel* Prior experience developing and analyzing business reports for management/executive stakeholders.* Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues to diverse audiences.* Effective communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, presentation, influencing, & relationship management skills* Experience assuming responsibility & independent ownership for a portfolio of work.* Experience communicating with management and responding to their inquiries and requests.Preferred experience includes:* Insurance Experience.* Prior experience developing Power BI visualizations.* Prior experience working in Snowflake.* Prior experience in Commercial Insurance Operations, Planning or Reporting.* Project Management experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.* Proficient in Word and PowerPoint, with the ability to present business problems or business cases followed by solutions.This position is posted for the Fredericksburg, VA office. If selected for the Plaza location, the analyst will be expected to travel to the Fredericksburg, VA office as needed, including onboarding.
