Electric Utility Construction Manager / QC Inspector
Location: Dorchester, MA
Duration: 9 + month contract
Must be local to the Greater Boston Area (Manager is estimating approximately 75% field work and 25% in office work)
Work Hours: 8am-5pm ET
Work Days: Mon-Fri.
Job Description Summary
All work done by Contractor shall be in accordance with Owner's Quality Control Procedures and Inspection and Test Plan requirements.
The Scope of work described below will take place out of the Mass. Ave. Area Work Center with field work locations in the Greater Boston Area. Many of the QA/QC inspections will require the Contractor to enter an energized environment and/or manhole, vault confined spaces.
Contractor to provide QA/QC inspections for field work completed by Owner's crews including but not limited to:
1) manhole inspection work
2) distribution cable splicing/terminations
3) distribution cable pulling
4) pad mounted equipment
5) cable training
6) manhole upgrades
7) network vault project work
8) new business construction
9) work order completed as designed
Contractor shall review field construction work complete by Owner's meet applicable Underground Construction Standards.
Owner shall provide all pertinent QA/QC documents and forms to Contractor for inspection results to be recorded.
Contractor shall be responsible for the timely completion of QA/QC documented inspections as requested by the Owner's Underground Maintenance and Construction Department at each stage as per Owner's Quality Control Procedures and Inspection and Test Plan requirements.
Contractor shall provide Owner's Maintenance and Construction Manager, or designee verified inspections, checklist, non-conformance forms, and other requirements per the Owner's Quality Control Procedure.
Experience with underground medium voltage electrical infrastructure to perform the QA/QC inspections.
