This is a temporary position.

Status: Temporary, Part Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

We are looking for an organized temporary File Clerk to perform file management, maintenance & storage for our Chicago Area office. The ideal person will organize files according to our filing system and digitize all essential documents as necessary. You will be expected to protect and update files as well as make them easily accessible to your colleagues. A file clerk must be organized and possess a serious understanding of confidentiality and data protection. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, skilled with computers, and enjoy a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

* Uploads digital files and data.

* Organizes records and documents.

* Create or update records with new files and information.

* Uses alphabetical and numerical systems to organize paper and electronic records documents.

* Creates new files and provides needed information on forms and reports.

* Scans paper documents and verifies that scanned documents are clear and legible.

* Discards documents when required in accordance with official policies & procedures.

* Operates office equipment.

* Looks for ways to improve filing systems and designs forms and templates for data entry.

* Works with outside storage vendors to assure safe archiving of documents.

* Follow policies to secure and protect the privacy of documents.

Qualifications/Requirements:

* High school degree or GED and 2 years experience

* Proven experience as a file clerk

* Very good knowledge of MS Office and office equipment such as photocopier, scanner etc.

* Good command of English both oral and written

* Dependable with a respect to confidentiality and policies

* Excellent organizational skills

* Excellent time management skills

* Great attention to detail

* Knowledge of off-site storage procedures a plus

* Ability to lift heavy boxes at a maximum of 30 pounds
