Seasoned Recruitment is currently searching for an experienced and compassionate Inpatient Psychiatrist to become a part of our team. As an Inpatient Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in our residential recovery center. This center offers psychiatric stabilization and detoxification services. The position will involve providing care to both child & adolescent and adult inpatients. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients, ensuring that their mental health needs are met in a safe and supportive environment.
The typical schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, ongoing assessments, and crisis assessments
- Provide patients with education on diagnosis, medication, treatment response, and potential side effects
- Accurately and timely document clinical information in the medical record
- Prescribe and monitor medication as required, ensuring compliance with standards of care
- Order necessary medical assessments, consultations, referrals, and laboratory tests
- Collaborate with nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists as assigned
- Participate in peer reviews, documentation, and utilization review processes
- Provide clinical supervision and performance evaluations
- Respond promptly to communications from the Medical Services Office and Utilization Management
- Attend medical staff meetings and required agency meetings and training
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Graduation from a medical school recognized by AND an active Physician license granted by the Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners
- Board certification in a Psychiatry specialty
- At least 2 years of post-licensure psychiatric experience working with adults and children and adolescents in a mental health setting (preferred)
- Satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test
- Full vaccination against COVID-19, along with adherence to infection prevention protocols
