Arconic is currently in search of **Environmental Health and Safety Manager** to join our operations team in **Massena, NY.**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

This role is base at our Massena, New York plant and will report to the Plant Manager. The EHS Manager is responsible for full implementation of Company EHS management systems and processes. The EHS Manager is also responsible for full compliance to appropriate regulatory requirements and the establishment of a culture that is aligned with Company EHS goals and objectives, with continuous improvement in plant incidents, with reductions in frequency as well as severity.

**Key Objectives**

* Drive a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within Massenas facility utilizing Human Performance as the foundation.

* Lead the development of an EHS strategy for Massena to ensure continuous improvement and sustainability for all aspects of EHS.

* Lead the planning, directing, and coordination of EHS compliance activities through functional teams, direction of plant manager and direction from EHS staff

* Lead the development and implementation of plant specific policies, procedures and programs to achieve and maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

* Develop and implement EHS programs and systems (including records) in order to maintain and demonstrate regulatory compliance as well as comply with Alcoa policies and procedures.

* Coordinate within the EHS Department the preparation and submittal of requests for environmental permits relating to air quality, solid wastes, water quality and transportation of hazardous materials and waste. Develop and maintain records necessary to comply with relevant laws and regulations. Ensure EHD Department prepares and submit reports to document compliance activities. Assist in maintaining environmental and health/safety records.

* Identify and develop good working relationships with state and local authorities (i.e., state/local environmental and safety agencies, wastewater authorities, fire departments, etc.) as well as appropriate internal Environmental, Health and Safety contacts.

* Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and identify all requirements that apply, or may apply, to the facility.

* Coordinate the development and implementation of training programs for all required elements of the EHS management system.

* Develop and/or use Arconic training materials to prepare for plant specific situations, identify other training materials, prepare training outlines and define training requirements for plant EHS activities.

* Coordinate certain training for Arconics employees. Assist in the development of procedural instructions and train operating personnel on proper maintenance of EHS records, documents, and reports

* Coordinate and assist in the execution of capital EHS projects to ensure compliance with requirements and completion on a timely basis. This includes recommendation of EHS capital equipment purchases and other equipment to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.

* Manage and/or hire contractors and consultants where required to complete EHS activities in a timely manner, within budget and in full compliance of Arconic, EPS, and AFE contractor safety requirements, policies, and procedures

* Coordinate and/or conduct audits and inspections of plant activities, and train others on conducting such audits and inspections. Inform the plant manager of conditions, which could lead to potential violations of laws and regulations or company policies and procedures.

* Lead the development of a world class benchmark medical department ensuring compliance with workers compensation and OSHA recordkeeping standards.

* Maintain records and files related to EHS.

**Qualifications**

**Basic Qualifications**

* Bachelor's Degree

* 5 years Environmental, Health, and Safety experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment

* OSHA experience

* Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

* This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S> person as a U.S> citizen, U.S> Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* B.S is preferred in an Environmental field

* Human Performance experience

* Experience in a Union facility

* Experience with a strong, successful record in Environmental compliance in New York State
