Job Summary The Manager, Project Management - NPDI (DC Power) will lead the global PMO (Project Management Office) for the DC Power line of business supporting new product development, resource planning, portfolio management, and complex engineer to orders projects. The Manager of Project Management will be the leader to implement best practices for NPD process and represent the DC Power line of business as part of the global product portfolio management council. This is a working manager role that is expected to also be an individual contributor as a project manager of key NPD projects. Responsibilities: Main Interface with the GPMO (Global Project Management Office): * Coordinate and host monthly PM meeting focus on best practices, issues, and process improvements * Attend bi-weekly and monthly GPMO meeting, coordinate and disseminate the information across the regions for DCP. * Function as main point of contact for all GPMO communications * Respond and coordinate information requests across all global project managers. * Participate/coordinate and lead PM workstream participation. These workstreams are tied to process enhancements, issue resolution, ext. Coordination of all NPDI activities: * Review monthly process KPI's and monitor trends, drive corrective action to hit KPI targets. * Coordinate, schedule, and drive Gate reviews * Maintain One list accuracy, drive One list priority discussion. * Drive escalation with resource managers or functional leaders when deliverables or projects are off target. * Quarterly review of market release targets with Marketing. Confirm dates and timing for product launch plans. * Drive the TTM (time to market) focus process, reporting follow up to ensure TTM focus process adherence. Governance and Oversight: * Coordinate and host monthly PM meeting to focus on best practice, issues, and process improvements. * Monitor and drive adherence to GPMO process and protocols for DC Power. * Participate in specific project "get well" plans and meetings. Typically related to schedule, project/product cost or performance issues. * Coordinate and drive resource management usage and resource planning. Work with PM team to review monthly RM data and ensure accuracy and meaningfulness. * Drive Lesson Learned implementation strategies. * Review and approve all NPDI SOP's, WIs, and procedures. Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred but not required * Design for Six Sigma / Lean Six Sigma / Design Thinking experience preferred. * 5+ years cumulative experience working in Project Management and Phase Gate processes * Strong communication skills to communicate effortlessly with PMO Leads and global functional leaders. * High self-motivation to transform our business performance and strong curiosity and critical thinking skills to arrive to correct conclusions and drive proper countermeasures. * Strong ability to summarize large amounts of information into clear and concise summaries for actioning. * Ability to take directions and drive for results. * Experience utilizing Smartsheet software strongly preferred. * High proficiency in MS Office is required (including Excel Pivot Tables) The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
