For more information, visit our website , or connect with us on LinkedIn or Twitter.ResponsibilitiesSUMMARYUnder the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is responsible for transportation of inventory between facilities, shipment of inventory from warehouses, and transport product/equipment between offsite warehouses.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification.Understand and implement all safety rules and policies regarding the use of powered industrial trucks, handling heavy equipment or material, and general warehouse safetyInspect truck for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisorMove trailers and transport product between local plants and offsite warehousing using tractor trailerEnsure that all proper documentation and paperwork are in order to transport product and equipmentProcess, setup and ship products from outside warehouses as well as the plantEnsure product integrity is maintained at a high levelEnsure inventory accuracy is maintainedProvide assistance in absence of Traffic CoordinatorMaintain warehouse housekeeping standardsPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorFollows applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or GED required; previous warehouse experience preferredValid driver s license, good driving record and current Class A CDL license (or ability to complete requirements for CDL) is required1-2 years OTR driving experience (tractor-trailer) is requiredKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSComputer proficiency, specifically Lotus Notes, Excel, and JDEdwardsPowered industrial truck operating experience, particularly fork liftStrong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
