Summary

As our Accountant, this role will be a significant part of the team helping the company make sound business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills for job costing, proficiency with Sage 100, and experience in annual budgeting and variance analysis.


Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting transactions with a special emphasis on cost accounting to ensure accurate representation of standard costs, operational efficiency, timely closeout and reporting accuracy.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage company cash, utilizing Sage 100 software for streamlined financial management.
  • Prepare budget process and forecasts, ensuring that all departments adhere to plans that support strategic objectives.
  • Present financial statements in a timely manner, including detailed job costing reports and variance analysis to inform management's strategic decisions.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile accounts payables/receivables, emphasizing the importance of accurate profitability analysis.
  • Manage and ensure timely bank payments, payroll process, retirement plan administration, and employee benefit plans.
  • Work with outside firm to prepare tax returns, providing necessary tax planning and reporting.
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements, focusing on variance analysis to identify and explain deviations from budgeted figures.


Requirements

  • 5-8 years of directly applicable accounting experience, with a significant emphasis on cost accounting in a manufacturing setting and proven track record in annual budgeting and variance analysis.
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant degree. Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus.
  • Advanced skills in accounting software and MS Excel, with specific experience in Sage 100 highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills, particularly in the context of cost control and financial efficiency.
