OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT:


This role will perform support roles related to Purchasing, Inventory availability, Production Planning, and back-up support activities related to functional roles of our Buyers and Planners in our Fond du Lac facility.






A DAY IN THE LIFE:


  • Manages releases of purchase orders for assigned materials and from assigned vendors.
  • Executes day-to-day buying functions as set-up within defined planner codes and defined vendors. Issues PO s, schedules pick-up and delivery if needed.
  • Print/Fax/E-mail s PO s to vendors, ensuring vendor has all pertinent information
  • Confirms receipt of purchase orders from assigned vendors; confirms price, lead-time, description, and then updates system.
  • Notifies vendors when purchase orders are cancelled, confirms with vendor.
  • Maintains accuracy of due dates for purchase orders, adjusting accordingly as project delivery dates move in and out.
  • Works with US and Mexico Planners to ensure Sales Orders are fulfilled based on material availability, date requirements, and shop floor capacity.
  • Expedites and exercises urgent needs for Sales Order fulfilment to meet our On-time, Complete and Correct initiative.
  • Maintains communication with Project Management/Sales on status of Sales Order fulfillment to maintain on-time performance.
  • In coordination with Project Managers, places orders on hold and/or cancels them and notifies Project Managers of any costs incurred.
  • Notifies Project Management/Sales of any changes to schedules or material issues.
  • Heads up the collaborative process of reviewing critical FG sku s and Sub-components on all customers with Project Management/Sales/Operations.
  • Provides back-up to the Fond du Lac Buyer group.
  • Assists in year-end physical inventory process.





WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:


  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of office management experience interacting with internal as well as outside customers.
  • Must be able to interpret invoices, packing slips, computer generate ordering and inventory documents, must be able to maintain accurate records.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and Excel is needed.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, invoices, purchase orders, freight bills, packing orders and other related documents.
  • Ability to prepare purchasing orders, correspondence and reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with vendors and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts favorable to the organization.





PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Requires use of safety glasses while in the shop.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
