The Animal Care Attendant, also known as a "Barn Hand" is responsible for the overall care of all animals within the park including, but not limited to, maintaining shelter and grounds, and stocking supplies. The Barn Hand grooms, bathes, and maintains animal cleanliness as applicable. In addition to general cleaning, thoroughly clean, disinfect, and sanitize all animal enclosures, shelters, and general use areas. Barn hands also interacts and informs guests with factual information about the animals. They must be willing to assist in other areas such as facilities and ride operations as necessary for the smooth operation of the park is expected.

Requirements
Observe animal appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness,
disease, and discontent.
Recognize and record any unusual condition or abnormal behavior of any animal.
Report any signs of illness, disease, injury, or unusual activity to management or veterinarian as
needed.
Groom, bath, and maintain animal cleanliness as applicable.
In partnership with attending veterinarian, determine the diet including water requirements and
type/amount of food animals are to receive and maintain records of appetite.
Monitor and record animal sleeping habits and any abnormalities that may occur.
In partnership with attending veterinarian, administer any medication deemed necessary to
maintain the health of all animals.
Assist veterinarian or other professionals with confining/restraining animals to be assessed or
receive medical care.
Take charge and/or handle animals as required and to restrain any animal as necessary to
protect the animal as well as park guests.
In addition to general cleaning, thoroughly clean, disinfect, and sanitize all animal enclosures,
shelters, and general use areas.
Attend to any laundry needs of the animal care area including blankets, towels, etc. needed to
care for the animals.
