Job Description Summary
Position Summary:
Students in a Business Department Designer role perform highly specialized duties and possess a high level of technical skills. They have the ability to work independently and may work with external clients. Professional Designer's typically perform professional level photography, videography, graphic design, web design, motion design or illustration to design department promotional materials. Create social media content calendars and design and publish content on a weekly basis. Perform various responsibilities including, but not limited to: photography, design and media production copywriting, and asset management and file management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design department promotional materials.
  • Create social media content calendars and design and publish content on weekly basis.
  • Perform various responsibilities including, but not limited to: photography, design and media production copywriting, and asset management and file management.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to self-direct projects and manage time without direct instruction.
  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks and proactively seek input throughout the process.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to with an eye for detail (including proofreading before submitting work for review).
  • Must be pro-active with communication and initiation of self-directed work.
  • Must be highly organized and understands the importance of consistent file naming conventions, file setup, and asset organization/labeling.
  • Must be knowledgeable with Ringling College graphic and identity standards.
  • Knowledgeable across all social media platforms and corresponding specs.
  • Must be dependable and able to work as scheduled with flexibility.

Education and Experience
  • Must be enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design
  • Must have experience in Google Workspace, specifically for creating content calendars in Sheets.
  • Must have experience using Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
