**About The Role:**
The Store Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the store, meeting all operational budgets, instituting all company policies, procedures, and programs. The SM will be expected to grow sales through merchandising, financial management, people management and community involvement.
**Responsibilities Include:**
* Be an ambassador for your customers positive internal and external Customer Experience
* Engage, motivate, and empower your team to provide a best-in-class Customer Experience
* Recruit, hire and train talent that reflect the community and fulfill the needs of the business
* Train store management and delegate as needed to ensure that store is run on a consistent basis regardless of the time of day or day of week
* Train managers and employees to comply with all store safety and security procedures
* Develop work schedules and manage company labor budget to provide for proper customer service while maintaining store standards
* Support corporate marketing initiatives and develop store specific programs to increase sales and customer satisfaction
* Establish ordering and receiving procedures that comply with Grocery Outlets standards while protecting store profitability
* Order and display products to provide variety and appropriate quantity
* Manage inventory budget and establish inventory controls to maintain company allowable unlocated shrink (+/-.50%)
* Guarantee company pricing policies are in effect at all times
* Conduct competitive price checks as needed. Report competitive price issues to operations and buying as directed
* Process all Purchase Orders to ensure timely payment
* Understand and effectively manage all controllable expenses on the P&L
* Merchandise seasonally and promote community events to maximize sales and increase customer count
* Establish a relationship with community organizations including food banks, charities to grow sales, and promote the Grocery Outlets brand while managing the marketing budget
* Establish a guerilla marketing plan for the store, analyze reports, and make recommendations to increase store profitability
* Conduct thorough customer and employee incident investigations. Must provide complete documentation to Human Resources in a timely manner
* Conduct written performance reviews on management team
**About You:**
* Can work professionally, with a positive attitude
* Proven skills in recruiting, hiring, teaching, and coaching
* 5-10+ Years of Retail Management Experience
+ Union experience preferred
+ Store Management experience preferred
+ Grocery Store management Experience required
* Capacity to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, financial statements government regulations and legal documents
* Able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, managers, and any outside vendor.
* Have a keen awareness of all current retail safety and OSHA guidelines
* Knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: hand jack, hand truck, trash compactor, bailer, forklift, cutter, proper lifting techniques, proper scanning techniques
* Can calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and volume
* Skill to create presentations, business plans, forecast budgets, and present information effectively to top management, public groups and/or suppliers
* Power to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
* Know how to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
* Talent to write routine reports and correspondence
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
* Proven Merchandising Skills
* Proficient in MS office properties (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
