Job Title: Wireless Network Technician


Overview:

We're seeking an experienced Wireless Network Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust foundation in wireless networking, advanced cabling, and Access Point (AP) installation. This role entails regular local travel and occasional air travel to accommodate client needs. The chosen candidate will possess the expertise to manage the physical installation challenges that arise during onsite projects, ensuring smooth execution and high-quality service.


Responsibilities:


- Conduct site surveys and execute installations of cabling and Access Points (APs) at client sites in adherence to specifications and industry standards.

- Manage cable runs, adapt to different AP mounting nuances, and handle basic network hardware installation (rack/mount) and configuration.

- Troubleshoot wireless connectivity issues and provide fundamental network support.

- Assist in configuring and deploying network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.

- Collaborate closely with senior technicians and engineers to ensure smooth project execution.

- Maintain meticulous documentation of installations, configurations, and troubleshooting methodologies.

- Deliver exceptional customer service and assistance during on-site engagements.

- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines during work at client sites.


Requirements:


- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or educational background is a plus.

- Strong understanding of wireless networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.).

- Extensive experience in executing cabling installations and terminations (Ethernet, fiber optic, etc.).

- Proficiency in Access Point (AP) installations and configurations.

- Ability to handle frequent local travel and occasional air travel (50-75% travel commitment).

- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Openness to learning and adapting to emerging technologies and methodologies.

- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.


Preferred Qualifications:


- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalents.

- Prior experience in technical support or field service roles.

- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (Wireshark, SNMP, etc.).

- Background in wireless networking technologies (802.11 standards, WLAN controllers, etc.).
