Our client a global defense and aerospace manufacturer currently has an exciting career opportunity for a proven leader of sales in the aerospace manufacturing industry. As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for a $320M manufacturing plant located in the Los Angeles, CA area. This role reports into the VP, GM and has a small number of direct reports within the sales group. This role is 100% onsite, 5 days a week in the Los Angeles Area and involves considerable travel.
To be considered for the Director of Sales role, here s what you ll need to bring with you:
-Aerospace experience in a similar senior sales, sales operations, or commercial role.
-Able to communicate effectively both written and verbally to gain the confidence of stakeholders at all levels.
-Experience of working in a small, flexible team and able to work on own initiative and collaborate with colleagues across a global enterprise.
-Effective listening skills and ability to clarify and confirm customer requirements.
-Broad commercial and business awareness, including ability to understand value-based pricing and cost benefit analysis.
-Knowledge of customers purchasing department structures and decision-making processes.
-Experience in using and maintaining CRM.
-Change management skills; experience developing and implementing new teams,
processes, policies, or tools.
-Strong analytical skills & business acumen with a good understanding of the key financial drivers and dynamics related to organic growth.
-Bachelor s degree, preferably in business administration, economics, finance, industrial management, marketing, organization and & management or procurement. Master s degree highly desired
As a Director of Sales, you will:
-To be ultimately responsible for the sales function and accountable for achieving organic sales revenue and margin targets for products in all markets.
-Accountable for achieving the annual order bookings targets.
-Collaborate with other Sites to support the sales of all products in certain markets.
-Prepare and deliver proposals and negotiate sales contracts within the authorization limit.
-Support and ensure completion of growth planning activities (i.e., customer account plans, country market development plans, and new business commercial plans)
-Build and maintain a sales leads and opportunities pipeline within CRM.
-Responsible for sales process and KPI management
-Convert outstanding customer quotes into sales bookings.
-Develop relationships with key customer influencers and decision makers.
-Maintain and contribute towards key account plans with major customers and distributors.
-Forecast future sales bookings in support of S&OP process.
-Determine, coordinate and follow-up on trade show attendance.
-Develop business relationships with a focus on establishing, maintaining, and improving the brand.
