Description
We are looking for experienced Sandblast Technicians for our locomotive shop. Will train the right candidate but experience is preferred in either automotive or heavy-duty industrial work.

Job Duties:
Organizes and plans the use of blasting equipment and materials for various projects.
Ensures that the blasting equipment is properly maintained and in a ready state of operation.
Sandblast, prep and sand locomotive components, chassis, and equipment for painting.
Prepare surfaces for sandblasting by cleaning and masking if needed.
Ensure safety measures are followed at all times.
Examines and measures finished surfaces to ensure conformance to specifications.
Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers, hand to, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to walk.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 70 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to fumes and may at times be required to wear a respirator.
- The employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is one that is typically associated with a manufacturing facility.
Job Requirements:o High School Diploma or GED
o Valid Driver's License*
o Previous sandblasting experience or training
o Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
o Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
o Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 70lbs.) and stand for extended periods of time.
o Excellent communication and teamwork
o Ability to operate a forklift or obtain a forklift license. *
o Familiarity with power tools.
