Position Overview

Equi is looking for a seasoned Investor Relations professional to report directly to the CEO and help craft and execute our process for investor prospecting, outreach, and acquisition. You will be largely running the day to day operations of the sales team and be one of the key assets needed to grow our LP base. You'll have a hand in content creation, attend conferences, communicate with existing investors, pitch new investors, and do everything necessary to raise capital and grow our AUM. This is a hunter role, you'll be creative in how you get in front of prospective investors, including pensions, insurance, family offices, RIAs, and/or private wealth management firms/platforms.

This is not your first rodeo - you've likely worked in the hedge fund, family office or FinTech space before, and are familiar with advising RIAs, Family Offices, and/or HNW individuals on the purchase of alternative investment products (ie hedge funds, fund of funds, etc). You're interested in being part of a startup, and you know how to take an idea and work with others to transform it into reality. You're detail oriented, great at investor prospecting, and highly conscientious. You'll be expected to think critically, creatively, and "outside the box" as you work with others to build out Equi's sales process. Ideally, you're also familiar with best practices around email marketing and content.

Own: what is this person singularly responsible for?
  • Raise capital from a variety of RIAs, family offices, and other institutional investors
  • Partner with our Marketing and Investment teams, crafting and executing our process for investor prospecting and outreach
  • Write investor updates and ensure our communications go out on time
  • Set up scripts and schedules for cadenced investor contact to close AUM
  • Develop and manage investor relationships
  • Drive the creation of investor outreach materials while ensuring the collateral is consistent with our existing marketing efforts
  • Triage and answer questions related to our product and escalate to the Asset Management team where necessary
  • Proactively guide investors through our on-boarding process and stay apprised of next steps, completing DDQs and other diligence steps as needed
  • Liaise with Fund Operations team on all hand-off items and ensure all information is transferred in a timely fashion
Assist: what will this person be involved in, or collaborating with other individuals + teams on?
  • Partner with Marketing and Investment teams to create sales enablement collateral needed for investor prospecting and outreach
  • Partner with Fund Operations on monthly performance reporting
  • Partner with Fund Operations to ensure a smooth and timely hand-off of items related to the investment process
  • Partner with Investment team to assist and arrange setting up investor calls and necessary follow-ups
Knowledge: what experience does this person need to possess?
  • 5-8+ years of fundraising experience with a proven track record as the individual sourcing and signing on new investors
  • Experience selling to financial advisors and working with broker dealers is a big plus
  • CFA or CAIA Preferred
  • Series 65 or 7, and Series 3 licenses preferred, but not required
  • Fundraising and investor relations experience with institutional allocators OR in-depth understanding of the positioning of private markets to the private wealth space
  • Experience managing a CRM (Hubspot preferred) and sales pipeline
  • Strong modeling skills and deep knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, for sales enablement material creation and modification
  • Knowledge of, contacts in and an established reputation in the institutional allocator environment
  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills with in depth experience creating presentations, collateral, and leading sales calls

  • Become an expert on the Equi platform with the ability to guide investors through the platform and answer all questions
