**Overview:**

The Food Service Merchandiser (FSMerch) position is responsible for the training & supervision at all retail locations, specifically where Fresh Food products are sold. This includes Franchise locations as well as individual foodservice programs within each location. The priority on every visit is to ensure all readiness for business standards are being met. This includes checking dates, inventories, and shelf-life to ensure that all products offered are the freshest. The FSMerch works side by side with the food service staff to assist in their development and to ensure all product quality and freshness standards are achieved.

The FSMerch will support and assist the FSOM with the testing and implementation of all new products and programs. He/she will monitor the performance of all new initiatives and will accurately report these results to the FSM. The FSMerch will assist in monitoring competition by reporting on scheduled visits.

The FSMerch must complete training criteria before supervising any franchise location. The FSMerch will coach and mentor His/her team while being a support to all RoadDog associates when visiting a store. The FSMerch is responsible for reacting to real-time store opportunities that may exist outside of his/her key areas of responsibility.

A key objective in this role is to ensure that all food safety practices are communicated and supervised to minimize any potential liability and health risks to our guests or associates. This includes teaching best practices when handling equipment to avoid potential injury.

The FSMerch must be knowledgeable of government mandates to ensure proper labeling and nutritional information is provided to our guests. This includes proper labeling on any recipe or product that may contain a potential allergy risk.

The FSMerch has full P&L responsibility that includes, labor, scheduling, training of his/her associates. The FSMerch is responsible for their own personal development as directed by the FSOM with a goal to move into a permanent role. Success in this position is realized when our associates are trained and we consistently achieve our Readiness for Business Standards resulting in profitable sales.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

* Meet weekly with the Food Service Operations Manager to review all action items.

* Ensure timely completion of weekly purchase log information

* React to all store needs to maintain readiness for business standards

* Review financial reports with FSM as well as individual managers

* Coach and communicate weekly schedule plans to each food service manager/lead.

* Effectively monitor the personal development of each of his/her associates.

* Test new products and research equipment innovation to explore new ways to improve quality & efficiencies to give a point of difference while managing down costs.

* Responsibility for the development, training & implementation of all division S.O.P.s

* Effectively manage and monitor all duties through action planning tools.

* Achieve all financial targets including shrink management and loss prevention.

* Monitor and react to daily sales to achieve labor budget.

* Review and react to store inventory levels ensuring the location is maximizing product turns and cash flow.

* Regularly meet with vendors to review our performance and market share within our competitive demographic. Explore where others are having new success outside of our business.

* Consistently check each location to ensure that there are no safety risks to our associates or guests.

* Work together with operations manager to ensure all employees are supported and all opportunities are identified and reacted to.

Requirements

**Required Skills/Abilities and Experience**:

**** The individual for this position must have worked in a key Food Service Management role for a minimum of 3 years.

Acts as a coach/mentor and possesses high energy, hands-on approach with a positive & consistent behavioral style.

Must be readily available to take phone calls while away from the stores.

Must be highly effective in planning and managing labor hours.

Can manage his/her personal action plan as well as assist the Food Service Merchandiser in the process.

Have a passion for his/her personal development that includes learning new leadership processes as well as testing new ideas.

Possess a strong financial aptitude.

Knowledgeable in understanding & managing within all company Standard Operating Procedures.

Understand priorities and timely reporting to supervision.

Organizational skills to prepare his/her agenda items for monthly one-on-ones with the supervisor.

Basic computer aptitude that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.

Serve/Safe Certified

Must be able to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
