PrideStaff Greenville is seeking an experience 3rd shift Chemical Lab Technician on behalf of our client in Greenville, SC.

We are searching for a skilled and reliable Chemical Lab Technician. This person will Perform chemical testing in a laboratory to establish quality control and/or quality assurance for manufactured products. The kinds of chemical tests that are done will be mostly of simple chemistry in nature; such as acid-base titrations (both manual & automated versions), solid & moisture determinations, color comparison testing, pH determination, conductivity, water in sample content measures, density & viscosity measures, and several other special chemical and physical tests common to water treatment products and lubricant additives manufacturing. Instrumental testing will need be done to a lesser degree for which the employee will be given training on instruments such as FTIR, XRF, GC & HPLC chromatography, and gel-permeation chromatography (GPC).

Chemical Lab Technician duties include:

  • Work with production personnel to test their samples, producing accurate results and reporting them in a timely manner.
  • Work productively with lab technicians and the lab chemis
  • Provide technical support to internal customers such as:plant chemist, plant manager, EH&S manager, production supervisors, & all other personnel outside the plant when needed
  • Perform test methods precisely as written and demonstrate great accuracy and precision
  • Stock sample preparation areas as well as test station cabinets, drawers, & shelves with labware and needed supplies for testing
  • Communicate with production notifying them of test results
  • Read temperature charts, and graphs
  • Build and maintain a basic understanding of TRCC products and their chemistries
  • Execute laboratory tests with accuracy & precision
  • Use instruments and other lab test equipment to determine sample/test results
  • Use all required PPE (personal protective equipment) while in laboratories, abide by all safety rules and procedures, and work safely at all times
  • Demonstrate good work ethics, treat others with respect, and exercise good judgment in decision making
  • Ensure data is correct (double check) and record appropriately
  • Understand that job has potential exposure to harmful chemicals; pay attention to known hazards for each
  • After testing samples clean test station and lab equipment where needed restoring everything to its initial state of cleanliness and readiness.
  • Report any equipment, sample, and/or test issues or difficulties to chemist when running tests.
  • Monitor supply of lab expendables used for lab test work and notify lab chemist (or chemist's designee) when items are in short supply
  • Formally requisition lab supplies from chemist or chemist's designee where needed
  • Perform record keeping on batch tickets, final reports, QF forms, etc. and do other clerical functions as required.
  • Prepare CoA's daily.
  • Organize, manage, and disposition the QC lab sample retain areas in the QC and/or G & L labs.


Chemical Lab Technician skills & preferred experience include:
  • Chemical quality & laboratory experience
  • Strong experience and knowledge in dealing with chemicals and their hazards
  • Possess good reading & comprehension skills
  • Have a strong math background
  • Demonstrate good hand & eye coordination
  • Use of Personal Protective equipment "PPE" is required, example; Steel Toe Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Respirators.
  • Must be mindful of OSHA, SC-DHEC, EPA, DOT and other local, state, or national agencies which pertain to the chem tech job
  • Must practice good housekeeping.
  • Needs to have a good attitude about work being fully charged, energetic, and ready to dive into work-related duties
