This position (REMOTE work can be considered for non-local candidates) is responsible for an array of IT duties involving programming and software development for PFCU s core processing system all while ensuring the utmost data integrity and security of member data. Provides operational support for core internal applications, as assigned. Responsible for writing and maintaining code for core systems of Symitar and related reporting and data extracts. Responsible for analyzing complex data structures to generate useful business insights and develop reporting to monitor business critical results. Will communicate effectively with internal staff, project team members and management on open assignments or projects while ensuring policy and procedures are adhered to and ensuring an outstanding experience for all PFCU members and staff. Will support PFCU users with data consultation, data gathering, data delivery and data analysis.


In this position you will:


  • Serve as Programmer for PFCU by the conducting the following: 1) writing and maintaining code for core systems of Symitar and reporting utilizing standard and proprietary tools such as Power On, Powerframe, Symform PDF, Crystal Reports, Javascript, C++, SQL, XML, HTML/CSS, HTML5, and others as necessary. 2) researching and analyzing submitted requests and data requirements, including drafting functional requirement, and gaining proper approvals on requirements; 3) interviewing business unit owners to engage in solid understanding of user requirements and develop programs or configurations utilizing company application; 4) developing programs using approved programming languages; 5) implementing approved changes to programs and PowerOn code to maintain standards, correct problems, modify or enhance applications functions; 6) developing custom functionality to enhance the Symitar core system using PowerOn, including the building/customization/maintenance of the SymForm interactive electronic forms; 7) preparing programing test data, analyzing test results and specifying procedures for new, modified and enhanced programs; 8) supporting end users with various aspects of requirements testing (e.g. testing plans, testing scenarios, testing outcomes, testing documentation, results analysis 9) assisting in programming for all mergers or conversions; 10) reviewing production and development code and ensures that programming is implemented according to the business and regulatory requirements with minimal production defects after testing and 11) tackling large or complicated requests, including but not limited to module changes, SymForms, Symform PDF and file maintenance with a higher level of understanding and accuracy.
  • Utilize systems analysis techniques in performing the following: 1) training with internal partners and external third parties as needed and acquiring knowledge of the appropriate programs, systems processes and departmental procedures; 2) working with vendors to implement new programs/software and troubleshooting any issues with existing programs, software or organizational initiatives; 3) responsibility of understanding and execution capabilities of the Symitar system in regard to PowerOn programming, standard batch programming options, forms, Episys and all other core system tools; 4) working in conjunction with technology team to plan and apply Symitar release upgrades, service packs, data purges and other downtime events for the Symitar Services; 5) creating data flow and process flow diagrams; 6) participating on on-call rotation and providing 24/7 support for applications and systems; 7) assisting in core system application release loading and operating system release loading process and 8) analyzing and determining source of system errors, malfunctions, job stoppages, and program information to ensure that operation standards are met and upheld.
  • Responsible for understanding and executing data extracts, report creation and administration on ARCU- the core system and third-party data warehouse. Create a myriad of reports and related ongoing maintenance of reports using all core related reporting tools to include but not be limited to SQL, and PowerOn.
  • Prepares application software procedures and documentation for usage, operation, and process automation. In addition, responsible for following change and quality controls (via change management policies).
  • Provides implementation services for projects, working individually or within a project team. It also includes designing programs/technologies under the direction of Supervisors. Will provide technical database and programming guidance and insight to technology team members. In addition, interacts with department stakeholders to research, recommend, implement, and support programs and directives.


To be considered you will need:


High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree in IT field highly preferred.

A minimum of 5 years related IT experience in a Financial institution to include applied strong knowledge of the following: 1) RepGen; 2) PowerOn; and 3) SymForm. In addition, experience with SQL, .Net/Javascript, C++, HTML/CSS, HTML5, OpCon Symitar/Episys ,XML and Symitar integrated solutions system management experience.

A minimum of 2 years experience preferred to include applied knowledge of 1) ARCU 2) ARCU Report creation 3)SymXchange.
