Headquartered in Norwell, Massachusetts with offices in Los Angeles, CA and London, UK, Zildjian products are sold globally through distributors and via a network of dealers. All Zildjian products are made in the USA at our cymbal factory in Norwell, MA and drumstick/mallet factory in Newport, ME.

**Purpose of this Role**

The Senior HR Operations Manager will guide and support operational excellence at Zildjians Newport, Maine facility. The goal of hiring this position is to strengthen communication, support equitable hiring practices, quality compensation programs, and work incentives to attract the best workforce available to produce top-quality products. The ideal candidate will be a role model for communication and will be highly accessible, able to solve complex problems, create new practices to support quality manufacturing, be aware of cutting-edge technology solutions, able to create quality planning, execution of strategy, and measurement of set outcomes for any project necessary.

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**

**Knowledge of Human Resources Management**

* Execute human resource programs and cycles including compensation, employee relations, performance productivity, recognition, and training.

* Manage and direct the recruiting and hiring process for Maine in collaboration with Corporate Talent Leader, Maine leadership and any other hiring or employee development organizations to maximize recruitment of top-notch workforce.

* Support the creation and provide management for a functional wide HR dashboard program that monitors and tracks the activities of human resource functions. Provide monthly reports and attend monthly meetings with the HR team as needed and required.

* Work with the SVP of Human Resource to monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with employment laws and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.

* Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to management and other HR colleagues.

* Drive core process improvements to eliminate administrative bottlenecks, minimize cycle time, promote best practices and continuous improvement across the HR function.

* Support the development of agile (lean) processes and work systems that engage, empower, and motivate employees toward highly autonomous work environment.

* Work with SVP of Human Resources and Plant Controller to create comprehensive workforce plan to deliver Maine business objectives.

* Leverage HRIS system and analyze and manipulate workforce data to bring insight into achieving business objectives and employee-centric initiatives.

**Employee Training and Evaluation**

* Prepare, guide, and develop orientation and training processes as needed for new hires and current workers. Track results and success of orientation and training programs and use data to adjust as necessary.

* Monitor evaluation systems of all employees at all levels. Suggest new practices as needed to ensure quality evaluation systems are in place at all levels.

* Manage performance issues proactively and expediently.

* Seek new ways to recognize outstanding performance that are fair and equitable to promote a positive work climate.

**Communication Skills**

* Identify, assess, and focus issues, options and solutions to business and workplace issues, providing leadership and alternatives for effective people decisions and actions.

* Support and foster a culture of inclusion and lead by example to ensure that Zildjian is a great place to work.

* Act as a mentor to managers to support their coaching and development of employees.

* Listen and resolve employee concerns.

* Counsel employees and supervisors as needed to produce a quality product.

Requirements

**Skills, Experience and Education Required**

BA/BS or equivalent experience required

Experience with manufacturing, production, or factory HR support or broadly with Supply Chain highly preferred.

5+ years of experience as Human Resources Manager or Lead

10+ years overall work experience

Demonstrated ability to provide stable presence while managing projects during times of rapid change and crisis.

Demonstrated capability to build trust and effective working relationships through positive personal interactions to promote the values of the organization.

Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional partners to achieve objectives.

Proficient HR skills and depth of knowledge including recruiting and staffing, employee advocacy, positive employee relations and engagement, HR compliance, workforce planning, training, and development,

Strong emotional intelligence and effectively partner to influence the people agenda and drive teams to alignment and action.

Experience using data to identify insights that drive action and impact.

Flexibility to work remotely on occasion
