Description

Responsible for counting moneys collected from pari-mutuel wagering and reporting results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safeguards Money Room assets.

Adheres to company policies and procedures.

Performs labor function during count processes.

Assists in sorting currency and paperwork.

Records cash and paperwork activity on Count Sheets.

Participates in the count and verification of drop.

Verifies each shifts bundled and strapped currency and coin.

Maintains a professional working relationship among all personnel.

Oral and written communication skills.

Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the Money Room.

Requirements

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prior experience in handling large sums of money is preferred. A proven proficiency with computers and ten (10) key adding machines with some knowledge of computer keyboard are preferred. Must be able to enter data, read and interpret output from computer. Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must be willing to learn all phases of vault and drop activity. Must present a well-groomed appearance.

Age Requirement:

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

New Mexico Racing License

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The individual is frequently exposed to second hand tobacco smoke, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is often noisy.
