We are currently looking for an Activities Assistant to work within our Skilled Nursing and Rehab Community at The WesleyanThe Activities Assistant plays a critical role in the overall engagement of our residents and in ensuring that they explore all the possibilities available for an active, thriving lifestyle. As an Activities Assistant at The Wesleyan, you will be an integral part of a mission and values-based organization that provides endless opportunities for career growth.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists in planning, coordinating, and evaluating resident activities.
  • Assists with transporting, communicating, and setting up for activities in and out of the facility on a regular basis as well as order and pick up the materials for the activities as needed.
  • Encourages resident participation programs and activities.
  • Leads group exercises for residents.
  • Conducts various activities at the direction of the Activities Director.
  • Assists in the surveying and interviewing of residents to determine interests, talents and resident satisfaction.
  • Maintains general observation of residents and shares appropriate information with staff.
  • Responsible for assuring resident safety as appropriate.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of The Wesleyan.
  • Other Duties as Assigned by the Activities Director and/or building Administrator.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organization, planning, and time management skills.
  • Experience teaching group exercise and an aptitude for leading arts and crafts activities preferred.
  • Proficiency in computers and various technology programs and applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all resident and staff matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • A positive attitude, adaptability, and affinity for teamwork, attention to detail, and initiative.
  • A servant-minded approach to all aspects of the job.
  • A passion for working within a senior living community, a skilled nursing and/or long-term care community is a must!
  • Alignment with and enthusiasm about The Wesleyan's culture and core values.
