The Sheet Metal Technician I is responsible for high proficiency in all minor through major repairs, modifications, E.A.s, with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Highly proficient in fabrication, cold working, flap peening and jacking/shoring aircraft.
- Highly proficient in using technical data and drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.
- Ensure work performed adheres to high quality standards.
- Effectively direct the work of less experienced mechanics.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree GED required.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years related aviation sheet metal experience and/or training.
- May or may not have an A (airframe) or P (powerplant) license.
- Previous experience in warehousing, handling inventory, and bar code equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Constantly: Lifting 10 lbs., standing, walking, wrist flexion and extension, environmental weather conditions. Frequently: Lifting 40 lbs., push/pull <20 lbs., climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling for extended periods, working in confined spaces. Working above chest-level, overhead, and away from body for extended periods. Bending, twisting of torso, twisting and/or pressure with wrist/hands, fine finger usage, moderate vibrations up to 2 hrs. to high vibrations up to 30 mins. Vision with/without correction; near <20 , far >20 , and basic depth perception (shapes). Working at elevated heights 4 , working on ladders, scaffolding, uneven surfaces, and energized parts. Occasionally: Lifting and/or carry 50 lbs., sitting, basic color vision, operation of motorized or electrical equipment, push/pull
