Adult Education Evening Instructor for Dog Grooming

STARTING DATE:2024-2025 School Year, on an as-needed basis

REPORTS TO:Supervisor of Workforce Development

WORK YEAR:Mid-August - May; Monday-Thursday evenings from 5:00 - 8:00, as needed

SALARY RANGE:$31 per hour with opportunity to advance

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

?Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

?Ability to obtain appropriate valid Ohio teaching license/certificate

?Minimum of 5 years documented experience in the field of dog grooming and care preferred

?Ability to communicate effectively in an adult education environment

?Dependable and flexible to various work schedules

?Ability to maintain a clean and organized workshop

?Highly motivated self-starter with excellent organizational skills

?Strong positive interpersonal and public relation skills

?Must work well in a cohesive team atmosphere

?Documented evidence of a clear criminal record

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

?Ability to instruct, retain and successfully complete students enrolled in the part-time Dog Grooming course of study

?Provide students instruction in dog grooming basics, ear cleaning, and teeth cleaning

?Train students in basic skills to assess dogs' coats and skin conditions, identify any health issues or abnormalities, and monitor for any signs of stress or discomfort during grooming procedures

?Prepare students for any pertinent Local and/or State dog grooming credentials

?Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, and ensure all equipment and tools are properly maintained and sanitized

?Work to prepare students for employment opportunities within the dog grooming career field

?Maintain complete and accurate records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation

?Actively assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulation and Board Policy

?Remain free of any non-prescribed controlled substance or alcohol abuse in the workplace throughout employment

?Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Education, Superintendent, Supervisor, or their designee(s)
