Job Details
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Inspect products using gauges and basic hand tools (calipers, micrometers, comparator and other metrology instruments).
- Test incoming raw materials.
- Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
- Rejects all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
- Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
- Measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
- Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
- Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
- Identify quality issues.
- Must be able to work in a machining environment.
Education:- Highschool Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Experience:- 1-3 years of industry relevant inspection experience on machined/formed parts.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Good math and technical skills.
- Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
- Practical experience in precision equipment and calibration.
- Blueprint reading.
- Knowledge in aerospace materials.
Physical & Environmental Factors:- While performing the duties of this job, the employee, generally works indoors within manufacturing area.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, sit and talk or to hear.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
