JOB SUMMARY:

Sycamores provides a spectrum of equitable mental health services through various programs to multicultural populations of all acuities. Although it serves a variety of consumers, the agency focuses primarily on providing care to low-income, high at- risk youth.

The purpose of this position is to provide active, hands-on peer support to parents of youth/young adults receiving services at Sycamores. Effective peer support should be friendly, helpful, accessible and flexible. Peer support may be delivered to individuals or group settings at the agency, in family homes or in community environments. The role of the Parent Partner is to work collaboratively to increase family voice, choice, access and empowerment, while decreasing unintentional, programmatic, and institutional bias about parents

STARTING PAY RANGE:

$19 - $24 per hour (starting pay will be based on previous work experience and educational background.)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be the biological or adoptive parent of a child/youth/young adult, and who has navigated mental or behavioral health, or related public child services.
  • Must be willing to share lived experience and publiclydisclose their story as a peer to other parents who are on a similar journey with their child/youth/young adult.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Maintains all required licenses and certifications.
  • Valid California Driver License and a driving record acceptable to the Agency s insurance carrier.
