A rapidly expanding company specializing in electrical power field engineering services has an immediate vacancy for an ELECTRICAL FIELD TEST TECHNICIAN skilled in field testing of electrical power equipment. Our client offers a diverse array of services that encompass acceptance testing, commissioning/start-up, and maintenance testing, catering to a broad spectrum of job sites. Their expertise extends across electrical power systems ranging from 600-volt class up to 15 KV.
JOB SUMMARY:
Perform electrical power equipment field testing and visual inspections of 600 volt class up to 15KV electrical power systems. All projects are performed on job sites. Operate a broad range of portable electrical test equipment. Position requires limited supervision.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform electrical power equipment field testing on low and medium voltage switchgears, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, protective relays, ATS', motor control centers, dry type and liquid filled transformers, grounding systems, etc.
- Field testing is performed per NETA and ANSI guidelines.
- Field experience with testing electrical power substations and large electrical distribution systems.
Requirements- Two years College degree or equivalent military experience
- NETA or NICET Certified Technician
- 5 years minimum experience
- Ability to write technical reports detailing field work performed.
- Good aptitude for troubleshooting and problem evaluation in the field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean DMV
- Flexible hours including availability on weekends and evenings
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA, IEEE and NFPA is a plus.
