This full-time position is based in Soho, NYC and reports to the Director of Sales & Creative Design.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our growing team. This role will involve collaborating closely with our Director of Sales & Creative Design to assist with sales activities and contribute to our growing bridal and bespoke jewelry business. The ideal candidate will utilize sales strategies and deep product knowledge to guide customers through multiple purchasing decisions via in-person/virtual appointments and walk-in consultations. You ll be a trusted advisor in the customer journey and play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable and personalized experiences for each client.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist Director of Sales & Creative Design in developing and executing sales strategies to achieve company goals
  • Support the handling of incoming sales inquiries through various channels including email, social media, and phone, to meet individual revenue targets, ensuring a high-end customer experience that that aligns with the quality of our products
  • Work 1:1 with customers for engagement ring, wedding band, bespoke, and fine jewelry appointments, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Utilize extensive diamond and fine jewelry product knowledge to provide personalized assistance, including jewelry selection, diamond education, care guidance, and policy information (returns, resizes, etc)
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to secure repeat business and long-term partnerships
  • Maintain a neat and organized showroom, including merchandising and polishing pieces between appointments
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as managing inventory, preparing draft orders, and maintaining customer records
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our Online (Shopify) sales system
  • Be sales-driven and a key contributor to company growth by managing your lead pipeline and nurturing and developing leads
  • Oversee all facets of sales transactions (initial consultation, diamond sourcing, stone presentation, closing the sale, etc.) while maintaining continuous and effective communication with clients throughout the sales cycle


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree or Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certification preferred
  • Subject matter expert for diamonds and fine jewelry with a keen eye for design aesthetics
  • Must have previous retail or sales experience in fine jewelry
  • Proven record of success in high volume, high value sales environments
  • Proficiency with Point of Sales (POS) systems, client tracking systems
  • Proficiency in design software - Adobe illustrator & InDesign required, Rhino / Cad preferred
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to engage and connect with customers
  • Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a small team

Schedule:

  • Full-time in-person role located in Soho NYC
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability (during busy season, sales or events)
  • 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with the knowledge that we have a startup culture and your day may extend past listed hours


Salary Description

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $82,500, including commission and discretionary bonus. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate s job duties, experience, and expertise. We will also consider higher level candidates and salary will be adjusted accordingly.
