Patient Transportation Driver Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified driver to transport our clients and make sure they arrive at their desired destinations in a safe and timely manner.

A good job candidate must be an experienced driver with a valid driver's license and a completely clean driving record. We need our driver to have no previous traffic violations, as our clients depend on us to keep them safe on the road at all times. It is also the driver's responsibility to make sure all their passengers are wearing seatbelts.

A qualified job candidate must observe all traffic regulations and be able to plan the best routes based on road and traffic conditions. They also must properly maintain the vehicle on a daily basis to keep it clean, comfortable, and safe.
Main Focus of Transportation Driver:

*Driving clients in a safe and timely manner

*Keeping the vehicle clean and safe

*Planning routes based on road and traffic conditions.

*Push 250 lbs Patient up ramp.

*Push 250 lbs Patient in Stretcher
Other Responsibilities for Transportation Driver:

  • Picking up clients at the requested place and time
  • Using a navigation app to plan the best routes.
  • Staying up to date with weather and road conditions
  • Adjusting routes based on road, traffic, and weather conditions.
  • Conducting daily vehicle maintenance checks
  • Immediately reporting any potential vehicle issues
  • Keeping clients comfortable and safe
  • Interacting with clients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Assisting clients with luggage
  • Providing excellent driving experience
Transportation Driver Requirements:
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Driving experience.
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation apps.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional, friendly, and polite disposition
Pointe Meadows/Facility Specific Expectations:
  • Show up to work on a timely manner. Check in with manager/director on site to go over any daily updates.
  • Maintain a professional image and attitude in regard to clients, visitors and co-workers.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicles to ensure that they are in good working order.
  • Take instructions from dispatch teams regarding destinations and timelines and ensure that both are taken into account when taking patients.
  • Prepare vehicles for transports by ensuring that both patients' sitting and lying down areas are cleared.
  • Assist in helping patients board the van or transit, and ensure that they are properly strapped in.
  • Communicate as much as possible to dispatch units regarding the statuses of patient transport.
  • Check and make sure vehicles are properly parked in their assigned areas / spots at the end of the shift.
  • Complete daily vehicle pre-trip and post trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Provide supervisors with information on any issues or problems that may surface during regular vehicle checkups.
  • Any other miscellaneous duties that may be assigned. Such as, but not limited to, weekly and monthly cleaning of the nurses' fridges. As well as putting away inventory.
