Role Title Role Code Working Title Adjunct Faculty - Welding - Manassas Work Location Prince William - 153 Job Description Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.

Teach a variety of welding classes at the Manassas campus of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA ). Courses may be taught during daytime, evening and/ or Saturday hours. Potential applicants must have good communication skills. Will be working with students from different age brackets, backgrounds, and ability levels.

Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications **Required KSAs:**

* Knowledge and hands on experience with SMAW , GMAW , GTAW processes.

* OXY -Fuel and plasma arc capability.

* Machine set up and troubleshooting skills.

* Will be required to demonstrate welding ability.

**Minimum Qualifications:**High School diploma or equivalent; at least 5 years of FT (or FT equivalent) welding experience in the industry. Preferred Qualifications **Preferred Qualifications:**

* College level teaching experience preferred

* AWS certified welder (present or past)

* Canvas or other LMS experience

* Basic computer skills Microsoft Word and Office
