As the Manufacturing Purchasing Manager for our Raw Materials department, you will oversee the procurement process of raw materials essential for our manufacturing operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our production lines have a consistent and reliable supply of materials to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic procurement strategies to optimize costs while ensuring high-quality materials.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships.
- Use the provided forecast demand for raw materials and coordinate with production and inventory teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to address material-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement or purchasing roles within a manufacturing environment, focusing on raw materials.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with purchasing software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and procurement and supply chain management regulations.
