Security Guard


Job Details

Pay Rate: $15.60 hour
16 hours per week Saturday and Sunday 11pm-7:30am

GENERAL SCOPE: Maintains the security of the building and meets the safety needs of the residents.Performs scheduled light maintenance and housekeeping as directed by the Summit Facility Services Manager.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of the Security Guard Act 8, 16 hour training class and Annual 8 hour certificate by an accredited school.This may be supplemented by security training in a police academy or recognized security instruction through the military or civilian training.Must have a current NYS certificate in compliance with Security Guard Act.

Must have a current, valid NYS driver's license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conducts walking rounds of the interior and exterior of the Summit buildings to insure building safety, remaining alert and observant for hazards or security breaches.
  • Investigates and reports all fire hazards and unsafe conditions.
  • Responds promptly to all emergency situations.If needed, conducts investigations and submits written reports.
  • Assists residents, visitors and staff.

  • Minor repairs as directed by the Facility Services Manager.
  • Completes housekeeping and maintenance duties as requested.
  • All other duties as assigned


EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of security experience in health care or related field helpful.Experience with MS Office and MS Outlook preferred.
